Controlling and monitoring of pH in pulp and paper manufacturing is critical to ensure the bleaching process is optimized and the finished product is functional. If the pH measurement falls outside the specified range, it can cause printing inks to not adhere properly and dyes or brighteners to not perform as intended. Improper pH can also cause foaming in the process. If the pH of the pulp falls too far out from neutral, the fibers can flocculate and impact the quality of the product.
pH is often measured in the headbox or pulp feed portions which is a continuous measurement application. AlpHa can provide custom design inputs including Tuff-Tip (AlpHa specific design for pulp and paper applications) reference junctions and mechanical assemblies.
