To ensure the health of aquaculture and agriculture environments, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP or REDOX) measurements need to be accurate and concise. The quality of the biological environment is dependent upon accurate ORP measurements. Even the smallest of deviations can indicate a possible increase in pollutants or a decrease in oxygen levels.
In fish farming facilities, ORP sensors are utilized to monitor the nitrification reaction status to avoid an ammonia spike that can be deadly to fish or other aquatic life. Additionally in aquarium systems, ORP is associated with the nitrogen cycle to determine baselines and trends.
