ISE in Refining & Petrochemical
Water is a critical component throughout all stages of the petrochemical and refining processes. The quality of the water has a significant impact on the process efficiency and operational effectiveness. Ion-selective electrodes (ISE) enable real-time measurements which are essential in these applications:
- Chloride ISE measurements are performed during the desalting of crude oil
- Analysis in sour water stripping through ammonia, sulfide, cyanide, fluoride, and chloride ISEs
- Silver ISE is utilized in silver nitrate titration for mercaptans and thiols in naphtha and gasoline
- Chloride ISE is used to determine salts present in crude oil, diesel, kerosene, gasoline, and turbine oil
