ISE in Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology

Ion-selective electrode (ISE) measurements play a crucial role in various aspects of pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. Targeted ion measurements ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. The following examples of sub-applications where ISE measurements are critical:

  • Calcium, sodium, potassium, and chloride are measured during the screening process of blood, urine, and other fluid samples
  • Fluoride is measured in the production of vitamins, tablets, and toothpaste
  • Carbon dioxide in bacterial cultures
  • Sodium to ensure purity of WFI (Water for Injection)
  • Ammonia in biological cultures
