Free & Total Chlorine in Pool & Spa
Chlorine is one of the most widely used chemicals to ensure swimming pool and spa water is properly disinfected and free from dangerous pathogens.
Maintaining the proper chlorine balance is critical; too little chlorine can lead to insufficient disinfection and harmful microbial growth, but too much chlorine can make the water uncomfortable or harmful to swimmers, causing burning sensation in eyes, nose, throat, or coughing, wheezing and nausea. In swimming pools and spas, chlorine measurement is used to monitor and control the residual chlorine concentration, adding chlorine to the system only when needed to maintain proper balance. AlpHa’s amperometric RC67 and RC68 chlorine sensors provide a continuous, direct measurement of chlorine in parts per million (ppm).

AlpHa’s amperometric RC68 Free Chlorine and RC67 Total Chlorine sensors perform continuous monitoring without requiring additional chemical reagents. Featuring integrated temperature compensation and superior long-term stability, the RC67 and RC68 models are available in both analog (4 – 20 mA or 0 – 5 V) or digital (RS-485 MODBUS RTU) output formats with measurement range options of 0 – 2 ppm, 0 – 5 ppm, 0 – 10 ppm, 0 – 20ppm or 0 – 100 ppm.
