Free & Total Chlorine in Food & Beverage

Chlorine is used primarily in Food & Beverage applications as a sanitizing agent to clean and disinfect vessels, containers, bottles, basins, piping, surfaces, and other production and distribution systems as well as to ensure water used in the production process is free from pathogens.

Maintaining the proper chlorine balance is critical; too much chlorine is detrimental to the membrane-based filtrations systems used in many food & beverage applications, whereas too little chlorine can allow microbiological growth. AlpHa’s amperometric RC67 and RC68 chlorine sensors provide a continuous, direct measurement of chlorine in parts per million (ppm).
