If the pH measurement falls outside the specified range, it can cause printing inks to not adhere properly and dyes or brighteners to not perform as intended. Improper pH can also cause foaming in the process. If the pH of the pulp falls too far out from neutral, the fibers can flocculate and impact the quality of the product.\n\npH is often measured in the headbox or pulp feed portions which is a continuous measurement application.
